The Quezon City government assured it will continue to support the distance learning needs of public school teachers and students in the city.
The city government said it will provide school supplies to elementary, highschool, and students with special needs (SPED) for the school year 2021-2022.
Tablets with sufficient monthly data allowance will be given to students grades 4-12.
Kindergartens will also receive storybooks.
Mayor Joy Belmonte acknowledged the dedication of the public school teachers.
"Malaki ang ginagampanang tungkulin ng ating mga guro sa pagpapanatili ng mataas na kalidad ng edukasyon lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya kaya sinisikap nating maibigay ang lahat ng kanilang pangangailangan, mula sa libreng check-up, gadget, at allowance (Our teachers play an important role in maintaining high quality education, especially in this time of pandemic, so we trying to provide all their needs, from free check-ups, gadgets, and allowances),” Belmonte said.
Teachers were given laptops, prepaid sims cards, medical check-up, load, and cash allowance since the start of the pandemic.
School renovations and internet connectivity will also be provided in preparation for the face-to-face classes. (Aaron Dioquino)
