The last day of voter registration for the May 2022 national and local elections will be on Saturday, Oct. 30, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded the public.
"#VoterRegistration ends tomorrow. No extensions," said Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez on his official Twitter account.
In anticipation for the high volume of registrants, the Comelec said it will temporarily suspend the issuance of voter certification.
A voter certification serves as "temporary voter's ID cards upon the request of registrants." This is valid for a period of one year.
"The issuance of voter certifications is suspended today (Oct. 29) and tomorrow (Oct. 30), in NCR and in other areas with similarly large numbers of voter registrants," said Jimenez.
"For those in NCR, voter certifications can be applied for and issued at the COMELEC Main Office in #Intramuros," he added.
Jimenez, in a Viber message to reporters said "we expect that there will be many trying to beat the deadline tomorrow."
