Christmas becomes an artistic affair at this 'mall-seum'

Newport Mall showcases Filipino artworks in a Grand Charity Christmas museum-in-a-mall attraction

A Christmas decked with Filipino art, that is what Newport Mall is bringing this coming Yuletide season as it unveils a grand museum-in-a-mall attraction that spotlights local creativity.

For the season, the retail destination in Pasay welcomes to its space 12 of the best Filipino artists, galleries, museums, and collections as they showcase over 300 artworks at its first Christmas Mall-seum. From Nov. 3, 2021 to Jan. 25, 2022, Shoppers can explore and immerse themselves in a world of creativity and artistry with the works of Nemi Miranda, Ram Mallari, Norlie Meimban, Boysie Villavicencio, Badz Magsumbol, Philipp Badon, Nixxio Castrillo, Maria Pureza Escano, Joe Datuin, Blanco Art Museum, Tawid Gallery, and Oriental Art of Shambala Silang.

In the span of 12 weeks, these seasoned artists will also present their full collection during their solo exhibit for one week each at the 2F, Garden Wing beginning Nov. 3. Their teaser artworks will also be showcased in 12 different areas of the mall and hotels during this period.

“Megaworld Lifestyle Malls is committed to opening its spaces for Filipino artists to showcase their masterpieces,” said Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. “This Christmas season, we are bringing more artworks closer to our mall-goers to inspire them to find hope and inspiration through art and creativity, while bringing cheers and happiness to those in need.”

In the spirit of the season of giving, the mall-seum is also a charity event with proceeds from the artworks, which will be up for sale through this portal, will be donated for the benefit of the Concordia Children Services and San Lorenzo Ruiz Home for the Elderly.

Part of the festivities of Resorts World Manila’s 12th anniversary and Grand Fiesta Manila annual holiday celebration, the Christmas Mall-seum at Newport Mall is open to the public, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. To ensure safety, visitors must strictly follow Newport Mall’s health and safety protocols including mandatory wearing of face masks and observance of social distancing.
