Police Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, Southern Police District (SPD) director, identified the arrested suspect as Meljhon Sta. Ana, 29, a resident of Brgy. Central Bicutan, Taguig.

The police said Sta. Ana is the leader of the Sta. Ana Carnapping Group and is the top most wanted person in Taguig for the fourth quarter of 2021.
Sta. Ana was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 29 in Central Bicutan by the joint elements of the Taguig police’s intelligence, and warrant and subpoena units under Police Col. Celso Rodriguez, police chief.
He was nabbed by the police by virtue of warrants of arrest for three counts of carnapping issued on Nov. 17, 2020 by Judge Loralie Cruz Datahan of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69; Criminal Case No. 3929 issued on Oct. 2, 2020 by Judge Mariam Bien of the Taguig RTC Branch 153 and Criminal Case No. 20-01269 issued on Nov. 25, 2020 by Judge Rosario Ester Orda-Caise of Makati RTC Branch 234.

"Ang walang humpay at walang pag-iimbot na pagsisikap na ito ng mga miyembro ng PNP ay nakatutulong nang malaki sa pagpapanatili ng ligtas at mapayapang komunidad sa ating bansa,” said Macaraeg.
