PH Red Cross vaccinates 1,700 individuals in Laguna and Aklan vs COVID-19


The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has vaccinated 1,700 individuals against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Laguna and Aklan in line with its efforts to help the national government.

On Oct. 27, PRC vaccinated a total of 1,300 individuals belonging to the A4 category through its “Bakuna” Center in Light Industry and Science Park 2, Calamba in Laguna.

The PRC Laguna Chapter, headed by its Chapter Administrator Frank Sorromero, spearheaded the vaccination efforts with the assistance of the local government unit (LGU).

As of Oct. 15, 2021, PRC Laguna Chapter vaccinated 16,255 individuals through its “Bakuna Bus” and “Bakuna Centers.”

This initiative is part of the vision of PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Dick Gordon to give the residents of Laguna access to PRC humanitarian services.

PRC also led the groundbreaking ceremony of the soon-to-build Blood Bank at the City of Sta. Rosa Laguna on Oct. 27.

Meanwhile, the PRC Aklan Chapter also continues to drive its Provincial LGU Bus around Aklan.

To support the National Vaccination Program of the government, PRC Aklan vaccinated 400 individuals in Ibajay, Aklan on Oct. 27.

The PRC Aklan Chapter said that it has administered 2,766 doses as of Oct. 27. To date, it has fully vaccinated 668 individuals ever since it first deployed the “Bakuna Bus” last Sept. 16.

With its continued vaccination efforts, PRC has already vaccinated 366,392 individuals in its 25 “Bakuna Centers” and 17 “Bakuna Buses” nationwide as of Oct. 27.

PRC said that its staff and volunteers have administered over 253,539 doses in “Bakuna Centers” and over 112,853 doses in “Bakuna Buses.”

“Patuloy ang aming serbisyo upang mapaigtingin pa ang pabakakuna lalo na sa mga malalayong komunidad upang makamit ang herd immunity sa bansa (Our service continues to further intensify vaccination especially in remote communities to achieve herd immunity in the country),” Gordon said.
