The San Juan City local government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have distributed cash aid to over 1,000 residents of the city under the Cash-for-Work program.

According to the local government unit (LGU), 1,374 San Juaneños have each received P4,000 as payment for their work.

“Isa lamang po ang Cash-for-Work sa ating mga programang ipinagkakaloob natin sa mga mamamayan ng San Juan para magbigay ng pansamantalang trabaho at mapagkakakitaan (The Cash-for-Work is just one of the programs we've initiated for our citizens as we help them have a temporary job and source of income)," San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said.
Zamora added that the program aims to lessen the burden of the COVID-19 pandemic on those who have lost their jobs.
Under the DSWD’s Risk Resiliency Program-Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM DRR), the beneficiaries were given temporary employment through the cash-for-work scheme such as communal gardening.
The program focuses on empowering communities to become resilient.
