The prevalence of the northeast monsoon or "amihan" may result in cloudy skies with rains over northern Luzon and Bicol Region in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 27.
Cloudy skies with amihan rains are expected over Quezon, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Sorsogon, and Masbate.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light amihan rains may also persist over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA reminded the public to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Weather specialist Ariel Rojas advised those in Mindanao to take precautionary measures against possible floods as the occurrence of thunderstorms could be more severe in the region.
Meanwhile, Rojas said a tropical cyclone is not expected to form inside the country's area of responsibility until the end of October.
