The Dargani siblings continue hiding rather than surrender Pharmally financial papers
Two ranking officials of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation that bagged contracts worth about P11 billion in COVID 19 medical supplies are still at-large.
Retired General Rene Samonte, Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSSA) chief, said the search for Mohit Dargani, Pharmally corporate secretary, and his younger sister, Twinkle, Pharmally president, continues.
Senator Richard J. Gordon, chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon committee, earlier said that Pharmally officials bought luxury cars such as Lamboghini and Porsche.
OSAA operatives have gone several times to the Dargani siblings’ condominium unit at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and at Greenhills, San Juan but could not find them.
Another possible hideout of the Darganis as relayed by an informant also showed that the Darganis could not be found.
Samonte said OSAA is being aided by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and officials of barangays, subdivisions and condominiums in their search for the Dargani siblings.
Gordon had them arrested last week for their refusal to submit Pharmally financial documents.
Through these documents, senators wanted to scrutinize the outflow and inflow of money to the corporation gotten from the P11 billion worth of contracts given by Lloyd Christopher Lao, then the head of the Procurement Service, Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM), out of the P42 billion COVID-19 response funds of the Department of Health (DOH).
Senators had called out the DOH for transmitting its funds to PS-DBM without a memorandum of agreement (MOA). They also claimed that the PS DBM-Pharmally contracts were overpriced.
They were perplexed how come Pharmally, with a paid up capital of only P625,000, was able to bag billions of pesos of PS-DBM contracts.
Linconn Ong, Pharmally director, is now detained at the office of OSAA for his refusal to answer senators’ questions and to submit Pharmally corporate documents.
In a related development, Senate security officers found and served Jeff Mariano, Pharmally accountant, with a subpoena, to answer queries on Pharmally’s financial transactions.
The Gordon committee will hold its 13th hybrid public hearing on the controversial PS-DBM contracts on Thursday morning.
