Robredo's campaign supported by 'awakened people' --- Bam Aquino

Former Senator Bam Aquino, the campaign manager of Vice President Leni Robredo, expressed confidence that her supporters are ready to fight it out for the May 2022 elections after the outpouring of support during the successful “volunteer-driven”nationwide motorcade held last weekend.

The motorcade drew more than 10,000 cars, motorcycles, bikes, and tricycles across different cities and provinces as they showed support for Robredo and her running mate Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.

“Para sa akin, isa itong caravan ng katapangan. Dahil noon, marami ang natatakot na magpakita ng suporta, magsalita, at tumaya. Ngayon, tulad ng paulit-ulit na binabanggit ni VP Leni, gising na ang natutulog nating lakas (For me, this caravan is a sign of courage. Before, many are afraid to show support, speak up, and bet. Now, as what VP Leni always says, our strength has awakened),” Aquino said in his third campaign bulletin posted on his Facebook page.

“Handa na ang marami na lumabas, tumindig, at lumaban. Handa na ang ating mga kababayan na ipanalo si Leni Robredo (Many are ready to come out, stand up, and fight. Our fellowmen are ready to bring Leni Robredo to victory),” he added.

During a speech after she proclaimed her intentions to run as president, Robredo urged her supporters to rise from stupor their strength and determination because she acknowledged the long road ahead of her.

Before she officially joined the presidential race, many of her supporters have not been vocal, fearing that they will be bashed and criticized by President Duterte’s allies.

Aquino noted the same, saying that there will be more hurdles in the future although their camp remains hopeful that supporters will bring the same energy up until the May elections next year.

“Excited na kaming makita ang inyong mga ngiti at marinig ang inyong mga hiyawan kapag nagsimula na tayong mag-ikot. Mas sumasaya ang bawat umaga kapag alam mong marami ang nangangarap ng pangarap mo, at marami ang handang ipaglaban ang pangarap na ito (We are excited to see your smiles and to hear your screams when we start to go around. Every morning is better when you know that many have the same dreams as you, and that many are also ready to fight for these dreams),” he added.

Aquino was supposed to run for senator before Robredo asked him to be her campaign manager. He was also her campaign manager in the 2016 vice presidential elections.

He thanked Robredo’s and Pangilinan’s supporters for pouring in their “sweat, weariness, and heart” over the weekend.
