P6.9-M worth of shabu seized in QC drug bust

Government's anti-narcotics seized P6.9 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a drug pusher on Sunday, Oct. 24, in a buy-bust operation at the parking lot of a mall in Quezon City.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) spokesperson Derrick Arnold Carreon said Mohammad Bocua was arrested at 6:10 p.m. in front of a mall along Commonwealth Avenue.

Bocua yielded more or less 1,000 grams of shabu and faces charges for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’

The operation was carried out by PDEA Regional Office 4-A, PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), PDEA National Capital Region Office (NCRO) and Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 6.

At the same area, PDEA and the Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives figured in a bloody shootout that left four people dead in an apparent botched anti-illegal drug operation last feb. 24.
