Gunther from 'Friends,' passes away

Actor James Michael Tyler, known to most as Gunther on the hit series “Friends,” has passed away.

He was 59. .

“Friends” shared the sad news with fans on social media.

“Warner Bros. Television mourns the loss of James Michael Tyler, a beloved actor and integral part of our FRIENDS family. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues and fans,” the statement said.

A Variety report on Sunday, also announced his passing, relating the actor passed away in Los Angeles after a battle with prostate cancer.
