Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, in a virtual press conference Monday, Oct. 25, hailed the highly-regarded athlete for winning gold in the men’s vault and then silver in the parallel bars.

"Congratulations! Patunay ito ng galing ng ating atletang Pilipino (This proves the skill of the Filipino athlete)," Roque said.

The world championships were held at the Kitakyushu City Gymnasium.

The Philippine sports scene is still on a high following the Japan 2020 Summer Olympics, wherein the country took home its first Olympic gold in history thanks to weightlifting phenom Hidilyn Diaz.

The country bagged a total of four Olympic medals, its biggest single output from the quadrennial games.
