NGCP sets 12-hour power service interruption in Negros Occ.

BACOLOD CITY - The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced a 12-hour power service interruption in some parts of Negros Occidental on Sunday, Oct. 24.

The schedule of the power interruption is from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the NGCP.

It will affect the substations of the cities of Cadiz, Sagay, and Escalante, and Toboso town under the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative (Noneco).

Noneco substations in E.B. Magalona and Manapla towns, and the cities of Victorias, San Carlos, and portion of Cadiz will also be affected by the power interruption which was scheduled from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Power interruption was also scheduled in Calatrava town from 6 a.m. to 12 noon, and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The NGCP said that maintenance activities at Cadiz Substation and along the Bacolod - Cadiz 138kV line will be conducted.

This included the annual preventive maintenance and correction of defects along Bacolod – Cadiz 138 KV line including associated high-voltage equipment, protective relays and secondary devices at Bacolod and Cadiz substations, invention annual preventive maintenance and correction of defects at 50 MVA power transformer no. 1 including associated high-voltage equipment, protective layers, and secondary devices at Cadiz substation, correction of thermal anomalies found at Bacolod and Cadiz substations, repair of Bacolod-Cadiz line protection relay Main 2, and replacement of CCPD for Bacolod-Cadiz 138 KV line at Bacolod substation.
