Jeyrick Sigmaton, who rose to fame as “Carrot Man,” has definitely become more than just an internet sensation. The Igorot actor starred in the featurette “Dayas,” directed by Jianlin De Los Santos Floresca and produced by Be Unrivaled Production. Mirroring real-life scenarios, the short film tells a story of small-scale gold miners in Itogon, Benguet, and presents an all-Igorot ensemble.

“It’s about the livelihood of Kankanaeys in Cordillera,” the director said. “We will be showcasing cultural attributes... kahit na in a short period of time, we wanted to show what genuine Igorot talent do.”

Also showcased among the IFFM 2021 featured films are other Filipino works such as “Wounded Blood” by Danni Ugali, “Fragments” by Mac Alejandre, among others.
