Ibaraki deals Thirdy's San-En third straight loss

Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix suffered their third straight loss in the B.League after falling victim to the erstwhile winless Ibaraki Robots, 95-79, Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Kamisu Disaster Prevention Arena.

Ravena finished with 14 points but the Neophoenix dropped to 2-5 after the Robots pulled away in the fourth quarter to record their first win after a 0-6 start since being promoted from the second division.

Ibaraki’s victory came with Javi Gomez de Liano watching from the sidelines since he won’t make his debut in the Japanese league until next week.

The Robots controlled most of the way, forcing Ravena and the Neophoenix to play catch-up after a 7-3 lead at the start.

San-En’s closest was at 50-48 when Elias Harris scored with six minutes left in the third. But Ibaraki maintained its lead before widening the gap in the fourth.

Ravena shot 6-of-10 from the field, added two rebounds and three assists while turning the ball over three times in 29 minutes.

Harris had 21 points and 12 rebounds for San-En. Eric Jacobsen led Ibaraki with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
