Kobe Paras, Niigata suffer blowout loss in B.League

Kobe Paras was held to a season-low six points as Niigata Albirex was handed an 81-58 beating by the Mikawa Sea Horses Friday, Oct. 22 in their B.League match at the Niigata Higashi General Sports Center.

Paras failed to score in double figures for the first time in the 2021-22 season of the Japanese league after being held to a 3-of-9 shooting during another rough outing for the slumping Niigata side.

The ex-University of the Philippines star came into the match averaging 16.3 points on 40-percent shooting.

He added two rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 28 minutes as Niigata dropped to 2-5 after its fourth straight defeat.

Niigata overcame a 7-0 start but the visiting Mikawa squad never buckled in the first half to take a 31-23 lead.

The Sea Horses would seize control in the second half, leading by a high of 28 before securing their fifth victory in seven games.

Both teams wrap up their two-game series Saturday at 5:05 p.m. local time (4:05 p.m. Philippine time).
