Students share school photos online to call for safe resumption of classes

Various students shared photos from their schools on social media to call for the safe resumption of classes.

In a Twitter post Wednesday night, Oct. 21, Kabataan Partylist Representative Sarah Elago urged students to post a school or campus photo in support of the Safe School Reopening Bill.

The bill, filed by Kabataan Partylist, seeks to provide the framework for funding for the safe and gradual reopening of schools.

Some students shared how they miss their blockmates and the face-to-face learning environment.

While some shared photos from their intramural, laboratory experiments, and physical education classes.

The Department of Education (DepEd) announced that it will reopen 120 schools for limited face-to-face classes in a pilot run which will run for two months or from November 2021 to January 2022.

However, as of Monday, Oct. 19, DepEd said only a total of 30 schools will push through with the pilot implementation of limited in-person classes on Nov. 15.

The Philippines was among the last two countries in the world that had yet to reopen the schools since the COVID-19 pandemic started.
