GMA Network programs and personalities shine at the 34th PMPC Star Awards for Television

GMA Network upholds its excellence in producing top-notch news and entertainment programs as well as being home to some of the country’s most trusted personalities, earning several honors at the 34th PMPC Star Awards for Television, held virtually last Oct. 17.

GMA News Pillars Jessica Soho and Vicky Morales led the Kapuso personalities who won this year. Soho was conferred the Best Magazine Show Host award for Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, which in turn won as Best Magazine Show. Morales, on the other hand, was named Best Female Newscaster for 24 Oras.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes was recognized as Best Educational Program Host for his work in the top-rating infotainment weekly show Amazing Earth.

Meanwhile, Atom Araullo won Best Documentary Program Host for The Atom Araullo Specials.

Given the Best Comedy Actor award was Bossing Vic Sotto for his role in Daddy's Gurl. Best Comedy Actress title went to singer-actress Manilyn Reynes for Pepito Manaloto which, in turn, took home the Best Comedy Show award.

Meanwhile, Roderick Paulate and Aiko Melendez won Best Supporting Actor and Actress for their remarkable performances in top-rated series One of the Baes and Prima Donas, respectively.

Joaquin Domagoso was named this year’s Best New TV Personality for his participation in All-Out Sundays.

GMA Network's original musical competition, The Clash, bagged the Best Talent Search Program. Well-loved child-friendly program Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko, on the other hand, received the award for Best Horror/Fantasy Program, while the Best Daytime Drama Series went to high-rating Afternoon Prime series Magkaagaw.

I-Witness added another feather in its cap after winning the Best Documentary Program award while Born To Be Wild was named Best Educational Program.

PMPC also recognized Tadhana thru Sunshine Dizon who won the award for Best Single Performance by an Actress for the “Magkano Ang Forever” episode.


Big winner as well was GTV’s Taste Buddies which was hailed as the Best Lifestyle Show, while its hosts Solenn Heussaff and Gil Cuerva took home the Best Lifestyle Show Host awards.

Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista was one of the performers of the virtual awarding ceremony which was hosted by Kapuso stars Sanya Lopez and Alfred Vargas.

Organized by The Philippine Movie Press Club, Inc., the PMPC Star Awards for TV is an annual award-giving body that recognizes outstanding TV programs and personalities in the Philippines.
