Brooks picks Adiwang over Pacio

American mixed martial arts sensation Jarred Brooks believes that Lito Adiwang is up one level against reigning ONE strawweight champion Joshua Pacio.

Brooks, who will face Adiwang in the main event of ONE: NEXTGEN III next month, did not hesitate to choose Adiwang over Pacio in terms of "who's the better fighter" when asked during the virtual face-off Wednesday night, Oct. 20.

"Like I said, this game is a game of inches," said Brooks, who has a 16-2 record. "And Lito and Josh are great on the feet but I think Lito is a little bit better on feet than Josh.

"And as far as the jiu-jitsu and wrestling aspect are concerned, it seems like Lito was catching up very quickly compared to Josh. So, yeah, I think that Lito was a little bit better than Josh."

It would be recalled that Adiwang earlier bared that his main focus, for now, is to solidify his rankings in the strawweight division and pave the way for his "younger brother" in Pacio.

Adiwang currently sits at the No. 5 spot while Pacio recently ended their trilogy chapter against Japanese rival Yosuke Saruta to defend his strawweight belt for the third straight time.

Adiwang doesn't plan to fight Pacio except if ONE Championship decides to set a match between the Team Lakay stablemates.

Adiwang, who holds a 13-3 record, for his part, was nothing but grateful for Brooks' opinion.

"I respect you, bro, if you see things like that. It's a positive side for me so thank you," said the Team Lakay stalwart.
