Blacklist Ultimate qualifies for CODM World Championships

Blacklist International.Ultimate has qualified to compete for the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championships, the team announced on Thursday, October 21.

“WORLDS SECURED - We are proud to announce that we will be among the three teams representing Southeast Asia in the upcoming Call of Duty: Mobile World Championships 2021,” Team Ultimate said in a post on its Facebook page.

This year’s World Championship adapted a new format and will be broken into two Finals events – the Western and Eastern Finals which prompted COD: Mobile to add more teams to participate from each region.

CODM added two more slots for the Garena region which will be taken by the qualifier's second and third placers. Garena qualifier champions ALMGHTY will now be joined by Dunia Games Esports and Blacklist Ultimate as the region's representatives to the world championships.

The three will then join nine other teams - four from South Asia- Middle East, two from Japan and three from China - in the Eastern Finals set on December 11 and 12.

The Western Finals meanwhile will have four teams from Latin America, three from North America and the champion of its CODM Masters, and three from Europe and the champion of its CODM Masters on December 4 and 5.

Citing its commitment to put priority on the safety and well being of the players, CODM also decided to hold the world championship online. It will be a two day-event where teams will engage to a 12-team round robin format in Day 1. The top four teams will proceed to Day 2 where they will battle in a double-elimination bracket to determine each Stage 5: World Championship Finals winner.
