Senate: Dargani siblings could not be found

Senate security officers can not find Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation officials Mohit Dargani and his sister, Twinkle, at their three condominium units in Greenhills, San Juan city and Bonifacio Global city in Taguig City.

The two were ordered arrested yesterday October 19 by Senator Richard J. Gordon, chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon committee, during the committee’s 12th hybrid hearing on allegations of premeditated plunder at the Procurement Service, Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) which reportedly handed out P42 billion contracts for the delivery of medical supplies needed by government to contain COVID-19 pandemic to ‘’favored’’ suppliers.

Retired General Rene Samonte, Senate sergeant-at-arms, said his office failed to find Mohit, Pharmally treasurer, and Twinkle, Pharmally president, at their known residences.

Samonte said his men reported that the known residences of the Dargani siblings were locked and there no signs of them until late last night.

` He theorized that the Darganis have gone into hiding but his men would continue their search.

Yesterday, Gordon cited the Darganis in contempt for their refusal to submit financial documents required by his committee.

in yesterday’s virtual public hearing, Mohit Dargani said the refusal to submit the documents was the decision of the corporation.

In previous hearings, Twinkle Dargani refused to submit the financial documents because they are protected by the bank Secrecy Law, Data Privacy Law and Corporation Code.

The documents were held necessary for senators to be able to scrutinize the inflow and outflow of Pharmally’s finances.

` When arrested or when they voluntarily surrender, the Darganis would be placed under Senate custody and held at the Senate building in Pasay City.
