San Juan LGU receives Galing Pook Award 2021

The San Juan City local government was awarded the Galing Pook 2021 award during the recently concluded 2021 Galing Pook Awarding Ceremony on Wednesday night.

The said recognition is spearheaded by the Galing Pook Foundation as it aims to recognize various projects and initiatives of local government units (LGUs) that help improve their respective constituents way of life especially amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"Ako po ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa Galing Pook Foundation sa pagkilalang ibinigay po nila sa Lungsod ng San Juan bilang Galing Pook Awardee ngayon taong 2021 para sa ating San Juan Kalingap Program (Kaagapay, Lingkod at Gabay sa Pandemya) (I am very much grateful to the Galing Pook Foundation for the recognition they have given to the city of San Juan for its San Juan Kalingap Program (Kaagapay, Lingkod at Gabay sa Pandemya)," San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said.

The foundation praised the city's swift COVID-19 response efforts and its educational programs which made distance learning much easier to all students and teaching staff of San Juan.

Galing Pook Foundation lauded the LGU's distribution of tablets and laptops to all public school teachers and students of the city, making San Juan the very first LGU to achieve the said milestone. It also highlighted the city's initiative to provide free internet to all its public school pupils.

"Sa lahat po ng bumubuo ng ating Pamahalaang Lungsod at ng 21 barangay, maraming salamat po sa inyong maayos na paglilingkod at dedikasyon sa ating mga mamamayan (I would like extend my gratitude to all our city government and barangay staff for their exceptional service and dedication in serving our citizens)," Zamora said.

"Sa mga minamahal kong San Juaneño, maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na pagbigay ng tiwala at suporta sa ating pamumuno. Magsisilbi po itong karagdagang inspirasyon para sa atin sa layuning maisakatuparan ang lahat ng ating mga proyekto at programa sa ilalim ng Makabagong San Juan upang maitaas ang antas ng buhay ng bawat isa (To all my beloved San Juaneños, thank you very much for all your continuous support and trust in my leadership. May this recognition serve as an inspiration for us to accomplish all our programs under Makabagong San Juan and improve our way of life)," he added.
