Senatorial aspirant claims he can end pandemic in 40 days

Senatorial aspirant Rodelo Pidoy, a self-proclaimed “great” healer, claimed that he can end the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in just 40 days should he get elected.

He filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator on Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Sofitel Harbor Garden Tents in Pasay City.

Pidoy, of Antique, said that he can heal people via call or text without the use of medicine. He, however, failed to substantiate how he would accomplish such claims.

“I can end this pandemic in a matter of 40 days... And all those delta variants, I can kill all of them immediately,” he said during his speech after filing his COC.

According to him, he originally wanted to file his candidacy for president, but due to his age, he opted to file for senator.

“If I was running for president and won, I could end it in seven days and people will no longer fear this virus,” he claimed.

Pidoy said the COVID-19 is a problem that is “quite simple” for him but did not elaborate.
