Ray Parks Jr. misses B.League opener due to injury

Ray Parks Jr. didn’t see action in the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins’ B.League season-opening 80-77 road loss to the Shibuya Sun Rockers Saturday, Oct. 2 due to an injury.

The Diamond Dolphins bared minutes before the match held in Tokyo that Parks didn’t suit up after hurting his muscle during practice.

No further details were given or if Parks will be available for the second match with the Sun Rockers slated the following day.

Parks is the fourth Filipino player who didn’t see action in the opening matches of the new Japanese league season.

Dwight Ramos of the Toyama Grouses, Javi Gomez de Liano of the Ibaraki Robots and Kemark Carino of B2 side Aomori Wat’s are out as they are still under a mandatory quarantine period required for imports who came from their countries.

Ramos, Gomez de Liano and Carino left Manila earlier this week.

Parks’ debut was seen as one of the most anticipated outside of the duel of brothers Thirdy Ravena or San-En Neophoenix and Kiefer Ravena of the Shiga Lakestars after a contract dispute with PBA side TNT earlier in the year.
