Jane de Leon gears up for 'Darna' taping in November

The most awaited “Darna: The TV Series” is set to start filming in November and lead star Jane de Leon is overwhelmed with emotions now that she’s busy prepping up for the role of the iconic Filipino superheroine.

“Kinikilig ako na excited na kinakabahan sa totoo lang. Iba pa rin ang pakiramdam kapag malapit na kasi malapit na talaga kaming magsimula,” enthused Jane in an exclusive TV Patrol report.

The Kapamilya actress talked about actively training and dieting for the role and also shared how she felt when she tried the superhero costume.

“Actually nakapagfit na ako ng costume. Naiyak ako, ‘yung feeling na nilalagay na sa akin ‘yung headdress. Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord na matutuloy na,” she said.

As the pre-production works for “Darna” continue this October, Jane also expressed her sentiment with the commemoration of Darna creator Mars Ravelo’s 115th birth anniversary this Oct. 9.

“Gusto kong pasalamatan ang Ravelo family sa ‘di matatawarang legacy na paglikha sa superhero natin na si Darna at sa pagtitiwala sa akin na ibigay ang bato. Maraming salamat po,” Jane added.

According to the TV Patrol report, the series’ director will be named next week.
