DOST's dev't institute now allowed to register courses, programs granting CPD units to RMTs
The Department of Science and Technology-Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) is now allowed to register courses or program that will give Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units to participants who are registered medical technologists (RMTs).

This was disclosed by DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña during his weekly report on Friday, Oct.1.
The DOST chief said the PRC CPD Council of Medical Technology granted accreditation to ITDI.
“Through this accreditation, DOST–ITDI may now register courses or programs that will give CPD units to participants who are registered medical technologists (RMTs),” he said on the DOSTv Facebook page.
“RMTs need these CPD units for their license renewal as part of the mandate of the CPD Law.”
Republic Act No. 10912, otherwise known as the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Act of 2016, mandates professionals to obtain the necessary CPD units, as prescribed by their respective Professional Regulatory Boards (PRBs), to renew their Professional Identification Cards (PICs).
“To date, DOST–ITDI already has four accredited programs for 2021, while a program under the Medical Technology field is the new addition to DOST–ITDI’s list of professional development programs,” de la Peña said.
