The Philippine Coast Guard has effected a top-level revamp as part of the regular re-organization involving six of its senior officers.
Capt. Romeo P. Pulido took over the position of Office of Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Operation from Capt. Marco Gines while Capt. Neftali Castillo was named as the new head of the Office of Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Marine Environmental Protection.
Commodore Luz Escarilla, on the other hand, was appointed as the head of the PCG Medical Service. She replaced Commodore Fran Eden.
In a speech during the turnover ceremony at its National Headquarters in Port Area, Manila, PCG deputy commandant for Administration Vice Admiral Oscar C. Endona Jr. encouraged the newly-appointed commanders continue giving their best in serving the Filipinos.
"You have been entrusted with greater responsibilities. Because we believe that you can be our instruments in delivering greater Coast Guard service to the public," said Endona.
Endona reminded the new Coast Guard commanders to continue the plans and programs of their predecessors and ensure that their subordinates improve their skills and competence.
