Makati LGU warns public about mall in Saudi Arabia selling AB 3.0 shoes

The Makati City local government issued a warning on Monday after a mall in Saudi Arabia is seen selling footwear that resemble the city's AB 3.0 (Air Binay 3.0) rubber shoes.

The AB 3.0 footwear was launched by the local government unit (LGU) for Makati’s public school students.

In a Facebook post, the LGU said that the footwear being sold overseas is not in any way related to the city government of Makati and the Department of Education (DepEd) - Makati.

"We are currently contacting our manufacturer and suppliers to further investigate the matter," the LGU said.

"We warn individuals and groups that there are legal actions in the unauthorized use of Makati City seal, as we commit to serve the #ProudMakatizens with transparency," it added.

Besides the shoes, the LGU also distributes school supplies and uniforms to the city students every start of the school year.
