Ping Lacson on movie stars joining politics: 'Don't judge them'

Presidential aspirant Sen. Panfilo Lacson Sr. has said that he has no problem with movie stars joining politics as long as they perform.

"Lahat naman, mga artista, policeman, miski anong pinanggalingan na background, they have all good intentions. Pagdating na lang doon, yung good intentions, minsan maraming obstacles, yung temptations, always come along the way. ‘Yun ang problema," said Lacson during a Zoom conference organized by Wilson Lee Flores, owner of Kamuning Bakery, on the occasion of World Pandesal Day over the weekend.

“So, ang mau-offer lang namin, we have a track record, na kahit minsan, sa tagal-tagal ko na sa gobyerno, hindi ako tumanggap ng suhol, hindi ako tumanggap ng bribe, hindi ako tumanggap o nang-extort, so ngayon pa ba naman kami magpapakasira, eh ito na `yung last hurrah o last 6 years of our public service career, so that much we can offer.

“So, pagdating naman sa mga background, lahat naman talaga, dapat hindi natin i-judge kung ano ang pinanggalingan. Ang dapat tingnan natin ay kung ano ang gagawin? What can they do, o what they will do for the country?” sabi ni Sen. Lacson

Lacson's running mate is Senate President Tito Sotto, also a popular movie star and television host.
