9 Bukidnon barangays to receive P20-M each for farm-to-market roads

NIne barangays in Valencia City in Bukidnon will be receiving P20 million each in the form of upgrading of farm-to-market roads under the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) of the national government, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said.

They were Barangays San Carlos, Banlag, Barobo, Concepcion, Guinuyoran, Laligan, Lilingayon, Lurungan, and Tugaya.

DILG Region 10 Director Arnel M. Agabe said the project is part of the government's commitment to bring development even in the remote barangays of the country.

Agabe then urged local residents to ensure that the said project will be monitored and implemented well and follow the target calendar days of its completion.

For her part, Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas expressed her gratitude to the national government, especially to the DILG for making the farm-to-market road project possible not only in Barangay San Carlos but also in eight other barangays of the city.

The SBDP is an assistance package granted through the institutionalization of the Executive Order No. 70 or the whole-of-nation approach in ending local communist armed-conflict. (Chito A. Chavez)
