Philippine Embassy in Warsaw congratulates PH Para Dance Sport National Team

The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw proudly joins the Filipino nation in lauding the outstanding and historic achievement of the 17-member Philippine Team consisting of seven gold, four silver, and eight bronze medals.

The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw led by Philippine Ambassador to Poland Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz congratulated the Para Dance Sport Team of the Philippines for winning a record number of medals during the 2021 Para Dance Sport Polish Open held in Łomianki, Poland early this month.

The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw proudly joins the Filipino nation in lauding the outstanding and historic achievement of the 17-member Philippine Team consisting of seven gold, four silver, and eight bronze medals, as follows:

  • Gold Medalists—Evelyn De Asis (Women’s Single Freestyle 2, Single Conventional 2, Junior Competition, Duo Freestyle Class 2 with dance partner Julius Jun Obero), Julius Jun Obero (Combi Latin Class 2, Freesyle Combi Class 2 with dance partner Rhea Marquez), Jhona Pena and Joey Maglasang (Duo Standard Class 2)
  • Silver Medalists—Evelyn De Asis and Shaquile Hanze Basan (Combi Latin Class 2), Julius Jun Obero (Solo Men’s Class 2), Christian Apolinario and Jhistine Glyde Baguio (Combi Latin Class 1), Jhona Pena and Filemon Baguio II (Combi Class 2)
  • Bronze Medalists—Anne Charlaine Santos (Solo Women Class 2, Solo Women Class 2 Freestyle, Duo Latin Class 2, Duo Freestyle Class 2 with partner Christian Apolinario, Combi Latin Class 2, and Freestyle Combi Class 2 with dance partner Jed Villaruel), Christian Apolinario (Solo Men’s Class 2), Joey Maglasang (Solo Men’s Class 2)

Łomianki is a town in Warsaw West County, which is almost 27 kilometers from Wilanow District in Warsaw where the Embassy is located. Ambassador Ruiz traveled to Łomianki on Oct. 8 to greet and receive the courtesy call of the Philippine athletes.

She conveyed the embassy’s well-wishes and support and expressed her confidence that the Team, led by their coach Genice Bong Marquez, will easily qualify for the Para Dance Sports World Championship in Ulsan, South Korea in November 2021.
