Robredo 'humbled' by Adamson's show of support

Vice President Leni Robredo is humbled as she earned another "kakampink" in Adamson University (AdU). On October 12, the school showered the facade of one of its iconic buildings on San Marcelino street in Ermita, Manila with the color pink.

Robredo showed her appreciation after Adamson University illuminated the facade of its SV Building with pink lights in the evening of October 12 to show its "solidarity with the cause" of the Vice President as she aimed for the presidency next year.

The Vice President shared the University's Facebook post and said she was "truly humbled by this" with the sentence accompanied by three praying hands emojis.

Robredo announced her candidacy for president in the 2022 elections on October 7, a day before the last day of the filing of the certificates of candidacy (COCs). She ran as an independent candidate and went for the color pink instead of the traditional yellow of the Liberal Party which she chairs.

Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan is her running mate.

'Pink it is'

"Pink it is."

This was how San Marcelino, Manila-based Adamson University began its post that showed its support to the Vice President's candidacy.

"Today, we illuminate the SV Façade in pink to show our solidarity with the cause of Vice President Leni Robredo," its post read.

AdU's Facebook post furthered that it was time that the public does not settle for less.

"She has shown resistance to corruption, disdain for injustice, and an untainted love for the poor reflected by her wholehearted service," the University's post read.

"We have had strongmen and political dynasties lead our nation. It’s time we don’t settle for less. Let us choose genuine servant-leadership," it added.

Robredo's supporters are dubbed as "Kakampink," a play on the words "kakampi," a Filipino word that means ally, and "pink" the Vice President's campaign color.
