Not so fast! BI collars American child molester

Bureau of Immigration (BI) operatives have arrested a 48-year-old American wanted by New York authorities for alleged child molestation.

BI fugitive search unit chief Rendel Sy said Francisco Loreno was arrested last Thursday in a hotel in Ortigas, Mandaluyong City based on a mission order issued by BI Commissioner Jaime Morente.

“He is an undesirable alien and poses a risk to public safety,” said Morente.

A warrant of arrest was issued against Loreno by the US District Court of the Western District of New York in March 2019 for allegedly molesting a girl described as below 13 years of age.

“Fugitives, especially those wanted for crimes against minors, are not welcome in our country,” said Morente.

"These kinds of aliens shall be deported and banned from setting foot in the Philippines," the BI Chief added.

Loreno is temporarily held at the BI’s warden facility in Taguig pending his deportation.
