P600-K worth of marijuana seized in Laguna buy-bust

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the local police seized P600,000 worth of marijuana following the arrest of a drug pusher on Wednesday night, Oct. 13, in a buy bust operation in Santa Rosa City in Laguna.

In a statement, PDEA said that the suspect Rey PJ Reyes, 24, of City of Biñan was collared in the parking lot of a mall in Barangay Tagapo at 9:20 p.m.

Reyes, who is a construction worker, is listed in the agency’s high value target (HVT) roster.

The joint teams of the PDEA Laguna Provincial Office and Santa Rosa City Police Station that conducted the operation confiscated 5,000 grams of suspected marijuana and buy-bust money from the suspect.

Reyes is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’ (Chito A. Chavez)
