Girl power! 2 young Pinay weightlifters bring home medals from Jeddah tourney

Two young Filipina weightlifters brought honor to the Philippines after bagging medals in the recently concluded 2021 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Youth World Championships in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Rose Jean A. Ramos ruled the tournament for winning two gold medals in the snatch and total category and one silver medal in the clean and jerk category.

Another national weightlifter Jeaneth M. Hipolito took home the bronze medal for the snatch category.

Philippine Consul General to Jeddah Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian met with the Philippine team to recognize their successful stint in the tournament representing the country.

The national team was composed of three male and three female athletes, and their two coaches.

Auxilian thanked them for their dedication, excellence, and for bringing honor to the country despite the challenges of the pandemic and being away from home.
