Family of 3, relative perish in Pangasinan town landslide


SISON, Pangasinan — An entire family in Brgy. Sagunto was wiped out after a landslide buried their house during the onslaught of severe tropical storm 'Maring' Tuesday, October 12.

In an interview, Master Sgt. Arlan Gomez they received a call from their neighbours around 6:50 p.m. reporting a landslide incident in the area where the family resides.

Upon investigation, Gomez said the victims were asleep when the landslide occurred.

He said a concrete wall collapsed after thick mud from the mountainous part of the area slid to their house while the victims were asleep.

Gomez identified the victims as husband abnd wife Jomar Aquino and Jasmine Stopacio, their six-year-old daughter Mary Jane her cousin Jessie, all residents of Brgy. Artacho in this town.

The remains of the family are now at the covered court of Brgy. Sagunto.
