Expect more changes in senatorial race until Nov. 15- Aksyon Demokratiko official
Aksyon Demokratiko stalwart and Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice on Wednesday, Oct. 13 said the decision of former vice president and veteran journalist Noli De Castro to withdraw as senatorial candidate only indicates that national candidacies remain uncertain until Nov. 15.

“We wish the former VP the very best in all his forthcoming endeavors,” said Erice, who has been designated by presidential candidate Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso as AD chairman for the national capital region.
Erice, a mayoralty candidate in Caloocan City, said more changes in the senatorial slate and political affiliation of candidates for national post should be expected on or before the last day for the filing of substitute candidacy on Nov. 15.
“There are two factors for this. One is whether or not Mayor Sara Duterte will stay out of the national political scene and reject calls for her to join the presidential race,” he explained.
“No. 2. Senatorial candidates, especially those who filed as independent, will look at the results of the next survey. Some of them will join a popular presidential bet or remain with their current political affiliation,” explained Erice.
He added: “For me, one thing is sure. A big number will seek alliance with Isko because he presents the best governance platform that all Filipinos truly deserve.”
De Castro withdrew from the senatorial race barely a week after filing his certificate of candidacy as part of the AD senatorial slate.
The broadcast news anchor and commentator said “change in plan” has prompted him to give up his bid for a new term in the Senate.
Aksyon Demokratiko Chairman Ernest Ramel said that despite this decision, De Castro will remain a member of AD.
“We are saddened by his decision but we wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” said Ramel.
