The office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Antipolo City only accommodates up to 400 walk-in registrants per day due to limited manpower.
Election officer Atty. Joseph Vega said included in the 400 daily allocation are the senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
The local Comelec office started accepting registrants again on Oct. 11 after the Comelec main office extended the voter registration deadline to Oct. 30.
Vega said the registration takes place at the following venues:
October 11 to 20 : SM City Masinag
October 21 to 30 : Robinsons Place-Antipolo
Queuing numbers are usually given on the day itself before 8 a.m. to ensure that only those who have the number will be allowed entry to the registration venues.
Registrants should bring a valid identification card such as NBI, Philhealth I.D., driver’s license; UMID ID; TIN ID with verification slip coming from the BIR; postal ID; passport with billing with the name and address of the registrant; or school ID (new or old); NSO/PSA Birth Certificate for students.
Barangay ID, barangay clearance, police clearance and cedula are not considered valid IDs, thus are not honored by the Antipolo Comelec.
Vega said on-line appointment is no longer allowed due to the volume of would-be registrants who line up in the two venues.
