Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao and his family figured in a car accident in Irisan, Baguio on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Sangiao, his partner Mary Jude Pili, and son Marko were reportedly in a safe condition as of this writing.
The accident transpired at around 7 p.m. on their way back home.
"Accident can happen anytime, always be watchful. God protects," wrote the Team Lakay patriarch on his Facebook account while Pili posted a lengthy post recalling the accident.
Both Pili and Marko were sent to the hospital as the former sustained three broken ribs per x-ray findings.
Team Lakay members Eduard Folayang, Lito Adiwang, Edward Kelly, among others, extended their support and hoped for their recovery as seen in the comment section.
Sangiao also replied a short thank you to this reporter after sending a text message.
Pili, meanwhile, recalled she had moments of near-death experience, suffering from "unendurable" back pain and a numbing head and how "we almost shook hands with the Angel of Death."
"I closed my eyes, tight. I prayed, more than I ever prayed in my whole life. I prayed for the people that came so quick for our rescue, for the doctor and nurses and aides, for our family and friends, for messages and prayers sent. I thank Him profusely for granting us that time I bargained for and for our lives....for the gift of our spared lives," wrote Pili on Facebook, posting a photo of Marko resting on a hospital bed.
