The Muntinlupa City government awarded P100,000 to a public school teacher in the city who was named one of the 2021 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos.
Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi gave the P100,000 incentive to Jason Albaro, head teacher III at Muntinlupa National High School (MNHS)-Main in Brgy. Poblacion, Muntinlupa.
Albaro won as one of 2021 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos in the field of academe. He received P1 million as cash prize, a golden medallion, and “The Flame” trophy.
He graduated cum laude with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Secondary Agricultural Education Major in Chemistry from Central Bicol State University for Agriculture.
The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos search is “the most prestigious career-service award for Filipino exemplars in the academe, military, and police sectors,” according to the foundation.
A career-service award, the search “looks into the entire professional career of the person—all their accomplishments and services rendered, whether big or small, done while in the line of duty and even beyond, from the moment they started working up to the present time.”
The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos recognizes outstanding Filipinos: four teachers, three soldiers and three police officers.
Albaro is also a recipient of the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2019 with Ma. Regaele Olarte for Global High Schools-East Asia and the Pacific (United Arab Emirates).
He became a Silver Awardee in the World Intellectual Property Office - Japan Design and Invention Expo (Japan); and first place, SEAMEO-BIOTROP SEA Creative Camp for Urban Agriculture (Indonesia).
Albaro is also a co-manager of the First Chlorella Vulgaris (micro-algae species) cultivation and production; patent grantee of Intellectual Property Office for various projects; program director in the Lake Rehabilitation Projects and Project PNP (Please No Plastics); and a United Nations’ convener for student leadership and promoter of the Paris Agreement.
