Very few people are truly blessed in this pandemic and one of those blessed who recently turned 33 is Maja Salvador. “I am thankful to God that I am alive and healthy, so I can continue to work on my new projects," Maja tells Gossip Girl in the set of "Niña Nino" where she plays the main character, Niña, in TV5’s family drama series that was recognized to be this year’s Best Drama Series by Singapore-based, Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA).
The talented birthday girl was also recognized by the same award-giving body as the national winner for Best Actress. “I share this award with my director Thop Nazareno, writers John Bedia and Lawrence Nicodemus, my producers Piolo Pascual, Binibining Joyce Bernal and Erikson Raymundo of Spring Films and CS Studios, Cignal TV, TV5, my management Crown Artist Management, the wind beneath my wings Rambo Nuñez and his family and all the cast-members of 'Niña Niño' which includes you Miss Giselle," says the grateful actress.
The show "Niña Nino" is a story of two siblings whose lives were changed by their faith and a miracle. This focuses on the importance of family, friendship, and love amidst all the struggles the characters are facing. It airs on TV5, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 7:15 pm after Sing-Galing, a singing reality game show hosted by Randy Santiago, Donita Nose and K Brosas which also grabbed the Best Non-Scripted Entertainment Award at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2021.
"Niña Niño" and "Sing-Galing" are both produced by CS Studios, Cignal TV and TV 5. This is Maja's second win at the Asian Academy Creative Awards. Last 2018, she was also victorious as the best actress in her role for “Wildflower”.
The Asian Academy Creative Awards honors programs and personalities that represent and promote Asian content and creativity. The award-giving body has been established to serve the creative industries as the pinnacle of their achievement in content creation and media production. Other national winners this year are JM de Guzman, best actor for his exemplary performance on ABS-CBN's “Init Sa Magdamag;" veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, best supporting actress award for the inspirational series “Huwag Kang Mangamba;" and actor Nonie Buencamino, best supporting actor also for the series “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”
The unkabogable phenomenal star Vice Ganda added another award to his collection as he won the best entertainment program host. Broadcaster Karen Davila was named best news anchor for ANC’s “Headstart”.
They will all represent the Philippines in the grand awards on December 2021 in Singapore facing other national winners from different parts of the region. The talented actress looks forward to this coming December. “Sana na lang maka-jackpot tayo sa December," Maja laughs. “Pero sa totoo lang, sobrang saya ko na nanalo ako as national winner for Best Actress. Isang karangalan na mapansin ka ng isang prestihiyosong award-giving body sa Singapore. Salamat uli.” (I hope I can hit the jackpot this December…but seriously I am already overjoyed for winning the national category for best actress. It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious award-giving body in Singapore.)
