UP Diliman grad tops chemical engineer licensure exam

A graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman topped the new batch of the 2021 Chemical Engineer Licensure Examination that was held from Oct. 3 to 5, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Monday, Oct. 11.

The licensure exam was given by the Board of Chemical Engineering in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, and Lucena.

Al Christian Regorgo Gobres of UP Diliman got an 84 percent rating for the exam.

Gobres was followed by Jeffrey Sibug Palcone of Adamson University (83.40 percent) and Alister Marc Bangsail Domiles of Saint Lous University (82.50 percent).

UP Diliman was also named the top-performing school with 100 percent passing rate.

Other examinees who landed in the top ten were Justine Valero Cientos of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod City (3rd), Frances Elaisah Cosio de Salit of University of the Philippines-Los BaÃ±os (4th), Elizalde Miguel Salazar Flores of University of the Philippines-Visayas-Iloilo City (4th), Alexander Jimuel Banaga Vibar of Malayan Colleges Laguna (6th), Maricar Balante Lagrada (University of the Philippines-Los BaÃ±os (7th), Joshua Santiago Aldave of University of Santo Tomas (8th), Carla Felise Abejo Salgado of De La Salle University (8th), Vince Alegre Dapanas of Cebu Institute of Technology University (9th), and Martine Joseph Lappay dela Cruz of Cagayan State University (10th).

A total of 321 out of 679 passed the exams.

The examination was postponed from earlier schedules in 2020 and in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
