PT&T gets 1st global quality management certificate

As part of its drive to improve broadband services, diversified telecommunications firm PT&T Corporation recently secured its first ISO 9001:2015 certification of Quality Management System (QMS) and expects to receive a second by end of 2021, the company announced.

PT & T President and Chief Executive James Velasquez said BQSR, a globally recognized ISO Certification body issued PT&T’s first ISO 9001:2015 certification. BQSR's auditors and technical experts conduct audits across various industries including telecommunications.

"We’re now ISO-certified. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to the customer as we always seek the highest levels of quality in our bid to better serve their needs,” Velasquez underscored.

The telco looks forward to receiving another certification for Information Security Management System, ISO 27001:2013 by the end of the year.

PT&T worked for the accreditation to show it has improved its products and services.

The company underwent rigorous company-wide audit to substantiate its QMS meets statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

“Our move to ISO 9001:2015 underpins our priority to provide world-class solutions stack, measured against global benchmark of industry excellence," he explained.

" This is essential as we help our clients adopt new technologies and achieve operational excellence along with their digital transformation journey," the president noted.

Currently, PT&T has a network reach of 22,800 fiber kilometers in high-growth areas and covering almost 40 percent of the total Philippine population.

PT&T holds a 25-year franchise which allows the company to establish, maintain, and operate both wired and wireless telecommunications systems for domestic and international communication in the country.
