Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has a proven track record to lead the country, Aksyon Demokratiko Chairman Ernest Ramel said on Monday, Oct. 11.

Ramel made his assessment as he reiterated that Domagoso will not withdraw from the presidential run even after hashtags urging him to quit the race trended.
The hashtags #WithdrawIsko and #LabanLeni2022 trended on Twitter after Vice President Leni Robredo announced her presidential bid in the 2022 elections on Oct. 7.
“Why would Isko withdraw? Clearly, he is the more winnable and as much qualified to lead us out of this pandemic and the bad economic condition we are in. It’s high time that we all focus on the sad flight of the Filipinos and our country,” Ramel said in a statement.
Political strategist Angelito Banayo, on the other hand, cited the Manila city government's accomplishment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Isko and Doc Willie’s decision to run as a tandem is based on the need to heal the wounds of divisiveness and to deal with the extreme crisis the country is facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Banayo said in a statement on Monday, Oct. 11.
Banayo is the head of Domagoso's campaign team.
Domagoso and Ong filed their certificate of candidacy on Monday, Oct. 4.
