Jessy Mendiola finally admitted to having an attitude problem, something that many of her detractors have been accusing her of and for the longest time.

In fact, the talk almost derailed her career, with many believing the same thing, going on to refuse to work with her.

But the actress made clear she is not naturally snotty.

Her attitude problem is due to her coming from a place of difficulty, specifically financially.

She explained in her most recent vlog:  “Noong medyo nakilala na ako parang ang daming nangyayari sa life ko noon tapos syempre bata pa ako. Syempre breadwinner ako tapos pinoproblema ko ‘yung gagastusin ko sa pamilya ko...

“Syempre ‘pag artista ka, ang dami mong kailangang i-keep up. Isang pares ng sapatos, 50k-80k. Saan ako kukuha non? Tapos pag magba-variety show ka, makikita mo ‘yung ibang artista, ang gaganda ng mga gamit. Syempre sila may budget na tapos ako ‘yung dapat kong ipangbili ko ng sapatos, kailangan kong ipangtulong sa family ko...

“So medyo parang dahil sa sobrang nabu-burnout ako sa trabaho, nagiging masungit ako...”

It came to a point that it affected her work.

Jessy said difficulties with finances led her to come in late during shoots.

Even when she makes it on time, she would often get lost in her thoughts leading some to think she is giving them the cold shoulder.

“‘Yung akala siguro nila nagsusuplada ako pero ‘yun pala, nasa ibang lugar ‘yung isip ko so ang ending, nagmumukha akong masungit or suplada kasi nga iba ‘yung iniisip ko. Wala ako doon sa lugar na ‘yun kasi nandoon nga ako sa rough time ng buhay ko...”

Not that she is blaming other people for misunderstanding her.

Jessy maintained she is just human and that like most her “personal battles” get the better of her at times.

“Ine-expect nila na kapag bagong artista ka kailangan sobrang bait,dapat ‘di napapagod. Minsan ‘di ba, hindi lang showbiz ‘yung buhay natin. Mayroon tayong mga personal battles or personal problems na nadadala natin sa trabaho,” she explained.
