Bosch names new PH managing director

Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, has appointed Paulo Duarte as the new Managing Director in the Philippines replacing Joseph Hong, who is assigned to manage the Laos market in addition to his current role as managing director in Thailand.

Concurrently, Duarte also heads the Automotive Aftermarket division as outgoing Country Sales Director, Sam-Ha Duong, returns to Germany to take on a different role. Duarte has been with the Bosch Group for over 30 years and has undertaken various leadership roles in Europe and Asia.

Prior to his current role, Duarte was serving as the Country Sales Director for the Automotive Aftermarket in Indonesia from 2014 to 2017. He was also assigned in the Philippines from 2014 to 2017 with the same role.

“With the country’s young population and the acceleration of digital payments and marketplaces, I am excited to explore new opportunities alongside growing traditional business models. Hand in hand with growth, we shall remain steadfast in driving efforts and in bringing solutions that foster sustainability and innovation in order to secure the collective future of upcoming generations,” said Duarte.

As the Country Sales Director of the Automotive Aftermarket division, Duarte will continue to support Bosch’s commitment in advocating for road safety through championing quality automotive parts.

The company has played an active role in promoting the adoption of car safety systems in two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles in the country through collaboration with industry players and government agencies.

Duarte studied business administration at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE) in Portugal and took a post-graduation in sales at the FachhochschulefuerWirtschaft Pforzheim, Germany.

Robert Bosch Inc. (Philippines) has diversified businesses in Power Tools, Automotive Aftermarket, Automotive Original Equipment, and Security Systems. Additionally, the company’s Home Appliances, Drive and Control Technology, and Thermotechnology businesses are represented through appointed local agents. Bosch continues to build its nationwide network as a socially responsible provider of innovative and beneficial technologies to the Philippines.
