ILOILO CITY—The Philippine Army’s 12th Infantry Battalion (12 IB) were able to discover a hideout of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Lambunao town, Iloilo province and subsequently seized armaments over the weekend.

Captain Eric Faller, acting civil military officer of the 301 Infantry Brigade (301 IB), said that 12 IB troops were informed by local residents of the presence of NPA rebels in Sitio Turoturoan of Cabatangan village.

By the time government troops got there, the NPA rebels had already abandoned the area.
