The MPL Philippines operating committee slapped Blacklist International’s Kiel “Oheb” Soriano a hefty P25,000 fine and a two-game suspension over a controversial post-match celebration after its sweep of rival Omega Esports on Saturday, October 9.

OHEB was seen flashing his middle finger in front of the camera as he celebrated Blacklist’s 2-0 victory over the MSC champions, Omega, violating the 12.2.1 section of the MPL rules.

“MPL-PH Operating Committee is aware of the abusive behavior made by OHEB of Blacklist International in W7D2, BLCK VS OMG. He has violated the following rule of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League - Philippines Season 8 Official Rules: 12.2.1. Making a prohibited pose,” said MPL PH in a statement.

Upon reviewing the incident, MPL immediately released the decision to fine and suspend Oheb for Blacklist’s next two matches starting from October 9. That means Oheb will be out in Blacklist’s final game in the regular season against BREN Esports and on its first match in the playoffs.

“MPL-PH Operating Committee does not tolerate any form of abusive behavior in the league and we expect our professional players to follow a strict code of conduct. Let's work together to build a more mature and professional league,” the statement added.

Aside from the sanctions from the league, Blacklist management also meted disciplinary actions to its sophomore Gold Laner. The Tier-One backed squad also issued an apology to its fans, Omega, and the rest of the Mobile Legends community

“The management of Blacklist International would like to apologize to our fans, to OMEGA, and the rest of the MPL and ML community for the unsportsmanlike behavior that our player Oheb displayed after our match,” the statement read.

“The management has already talked to him in private about the matter and will issue a fine that will be deducted from his salary for his actions.”

OHEB also issued an apology during the team’s post game presser.
