ABS-CBN has issued a statement after Kapamilya television host Karla Estrada filed her certificate of candidacy as Tingog Partylist third nominee in the upcoming national election.
"In her desire to continue serving her kababayans, Karla Estrada has decided to run for public office. We respect our decision and wish our Kapamilya well as she pursues her mission of service," read the ABS-CBN statement.

On Instagram, Estrada commented: "Salamat Kapamilya." In the meantime, Estrada deactivated the comment section of her IG.
It would be recalled that fans of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel) and ABS-CBN were not happy about Estrada joining politics.
Hardcore supporters of KathNiel and the Kapamilya Network urged Estrada to withdraw as the third nominee of the party-list, saying the group’s current representative Yedda Romualdez voted to reject the renewal of ABS-CBN franchise.

Estrada admitted it wasn't an easy decision to run for public office.
Celebrity friends expressed support to Estrada on her decision to run in 2022.
"Go mamshie! Support!" wrote Candy Pangilinan.
"Eto na yun!!!! said Gelli de Belen.
"Yes!!! Supporting you all the way mare!!" commented Ruffa Gutierrez.
"Praying for you every step of the way! We will be behind you for your people in Tacloban ? to God be the Glory ? @karlaestrada1121 love you!" wrote Jackie Forster.
