'Excited lang?' Gov. Hernandez jokes Remulla on 1st day of COC filing

Laguna Governor Ramil L. Hernandez teased Cavite Governor Jonvic C. Remulla over filing a certificate of candidacy for reelection (COC) on the first day of filing on Friday (October 1).

"Dear BFF Jonvic, inunahan mo ako magfile ha. First day talaga? Excited lang? (You beat me to filing a COC. On the first day, really? Are you so excited?)" Hernandez joked in a Facebook post.

"OK lang, goodluck na lang pre. Sana tayo pa rin sa huli (It's okay, good luck. I hope it's still us in the end)," he added. "Kapag ako nanalo ambon pa lang, wala na agad pasok sa Laguna (If I win, I'll cancel classes right away the moment it drizzles in Laguna)."

Hernandez also jested about the possibility of Remulla running unopposed.

"P.S. Kapag wala ka kalaban beke nemen... donation naman dyan (If you're running unopposed, you might want to give me a donation)," Hernandez teased.

The governors of the two neighboring provinces usually engage in light-hearted online ribbing over class suspensions. Last year, they also traded jokes about border control amid the lockdown.

Remulla earlier filed his COC at Trece Martires with his running mate, incumbent Tagaytay City Councilor Athena Tolentino.

Hernandez is yet to file his COC but has previously announced on social media that he will be seeking his third term as Laguna chief executive.
